Palm Sunday; a day of glory, laud, and honor, indeed. But as our pastor pointed out from the scripture today, after all of the pomp and circumstance, Jesus wept.
Pastor Don Steele. of Summit NJ Presbyterian Church, spoke how the week following Palm Sunday would host smashed dreams and hopes. And despite the glory of the Palm Sunday, fear, misunderstandings, hurting, and an absence of peace would follow. Humanity then and today still struggles mightily to find peace with each other and ourselves.
There is no magic wand that made everything alright as the Christian High Holy week ensued. Yet, even so, humanity was found worthy and valuable. Reality darkly descended but hope came through in the end.
So the charge remains: how can we find peace no matter what unknown that may await us?
This holy week leaves us with the message that we are truly good at heart.
Let us begin our reconciliations with our self and others.
