1.13.22-present

  1. WEIGH INS: Weighing myself every day since I began has made weighing myself no big deal anymore and shows me how much weight can vary depending on sleep, hormones, stress etc.
  2. ADDITION METHOD: I’ve grown a lot in my food choices by broadening my choices. I now have a lot more “go to” meals that I really enjoy.
  3. MINDING MY MIND: I’ve become more mindful of what I am eating and cognizant of my mindless habits.
  4. DINNER BELL: I’m doing better with eating when I’m hungry and stopping when I’ve reached satiety. It’s eye opening to know how much I’ve ignored hunger in the past; so many times I ate unintuitively with my various self imposed restrictive diets since middle school.
  5. SCALE AMOUNT: I am down 30 plus lbs since the height of the pandemic but it’s been gradual which has made the weight loss accessible. I used to lose it quickly and not even live in the various weights for a while. I would go from plus size to single digit and never actually made the transition in my mind/emotional landscape. I dealt a lot with dysmorphia. This distortion is starting to lift.
  6. WHITE KNUCKLE RECOVERY: I gravitate towards more low caloric dense foods now that foods aren’t labeled bad and off limits. If I don’t like something, I don’t eat it rather than eat everything because of an overly restrictive diet.
  7. “PITA” PEANUT GALLERY: I continue to work on my exposure to inevitable comments about my lifestyle changes from others. Many are supportive; not all….at least that’s what my distorted brain wants me to believe….;-)
