Sleep was less than optimal this week but it was a good one. The play has wrapped and Wagner College is back in full swing. It’s now chorus spring music festival mode.
Some memorable moments this week included:
- Seeing the always energizing and fabulous Betzi Beck.
- Sister Beatles shirts ❤️ Danielle Stacie
- Watching the sweetness of Frances Robles Alvarez K playing on their toy break after our music time.
- Getting to see Barbara E. Gibbons thru her amazing daughter Julie De Klerk
who thoughtfully sent cards, a poem she penned, and a musical bookmark to the kids who sang at the memorial. I have not been able to hand them out to all of the kids yet. Some of their comments so far included “Oh, I really love this” “She has nice handwriting” “She wrote new words to our song!” - Having fun picking songs and making posters for a sports themed read across America 2023.
- Seeing Nathan Cedervall’s awesome Bob Ross bulletin board.
- Learning about Kente cloth from a cool bulletin board made by judd staff.
- Getting the long time yearly, generous, and incredibly thoughtful donation to the Judd chorus from Susie Beck Gardner and Patrick Gardner
- Finding a book on eBay written by my dads favorite voice teacher from DePaul Richard DeYoung. Janet Perryman
- A 2nd grade comment about seeing the dvd of the sound of music Rolf and liesl kiss ”That’s not how my mom and dad do it. They put their whole mouth into it.” 😂
- Grateful and excited to sing the solo on “we shall overcome” with the cathedral choir at a Sunday mlk celebration.
