Comedy and Tragedy Through The Years #12024

It’s the summer of 1978. I’m in my first theater production. I’m playing the part of Pinocchio in Act 2 when he goes to the land of the toys and becomes a donkey. I still remember the heavy and stuffy paper mache donkey head I wore. Even at 9, the energy of a live audience was galvanizing. Directing shows has been enjoyable over the years. I especially enjoyed incorporating those hips swivels in Litchfield’s grease circa 1991 Patrice Corso Lynne Kirby Taylor. This year, weather and conflicts haven’t been on our side. Luckily, today we were able to get most of our Pinocchio cast together/in costume for a solid 90 minute run thru on stage. The 3/4th grade kids are really starting to bring it. It’s big challenge especially getting the littles to think and react with agency on their feet but oh what a joy is it to see them rise. Grateful for family helpers. A special shout out to Liz Dinardi Disano Sherri Araujo Villamil and Chayne Marissa❤️. Thanks to LD, I was even treated to a delightful Ms P snack pack. 🥹 Time to slay! Let’s do this. #pinocchio #schoolplay
