Passing Of Time #222024

PASSING OF TIME

(My non metric tale of time)

By Elizabeth Perryman 2.2.2024 #akintsucrooner

Time winds and moves.

The assessment of time defies translation.

Time fills space but meaningful moments transcend quantity.

Time that carries importance in our lives escapes linear measurement.

So, I asked my future wife when we first met what got her out of bed.  I continued by asking her what stops her from slugging a curmudgeonly fellow traveler.

We laughed.  We shared mutual intrigue.  We became friends.

Now two decades later we are on the other side of smartphones, hurricanes, VR, Mayan calendar concern, touchless streaming, cake pops, I am Negan, and a Chicago Cub world series….

Our days in between have captured the joyful and jubilant, slow and sad, enchanting and existential, and mellow and mundane….

Lucky for me, my historical decision to swipe Elizabeth Honer’s garlic bread on our first date because in my childhood household it was well known that “ya gotta be quick” intrigued my future wife…

My current double nickel self seeks to work with time with more intention; time well spent includes finding a quality titleist driver to shoot the back nine.

So we spend our time relating, refreshing, rewinding, reformatting, relinquishing, recreating, rejoicing, rehabilitating, and rekindling.

In my case, time is rewarding when I am building a linguistic legoland.

My 2024 requires a snow globe shift to exhale collected triggers, trauma, and travails.

I remain an infinite student, grateful for the quality of time still ahead of me.
