Feeling very grateful today for my muse.

I was an actor before I was a singer. As I have learned the opera singing craft, it has been precarious juggling legato, vocal position, and breath flow while honestly portraying the character in the moment as an actor. Each new opportunity challenges me to organically embed the music and drama.

My voice student who went to NYU for theater came to my Rusalka performance. He shared that he was earnestly impressed with my intentional, honest choices in this origin tale and appreciated my lack of histrionics that are typical for this type of character.

Another lovely moment was a screenshot sent to me by a parent of my 3rd grade student finding my Rusalka clip and exclaiming wow to my performance.
