My usual approach in life has historically been to power through and rest later. Sometimes it works out. When my dad passed in 2001, it was 4 weeks before my DMA recital. As of 9.2.2022, I’m starting to process life since March 8, 2020 more fully; more dawned on me today. I have noticed (even in 2 days) how much more alert and bright eyed the students are this September in contrast to last September (after a year and a half of mostly virtual learning.) I am grateful for health and strength during during the pandemic. It didn’t always occur to me how difficult things were the past 2.5 years. I had the full steam ahead; make the best of it mindset.
