In elementary school, I told my parents I wanted to be a waitress when I grew up. During the angsty decade of adolescence, I continually pondered “who am I” and told my parents I would definitely NOT be a music teacher. Then I tried it with Donna Budil and liked it. So I had to admit to them I was wrong. A year before my father passed, I told him I didn’t want to teach college. He always wanted to teach college voice but it can be challenging to find open positions. He found his wonderful legacy with his junior high and church choir. And now, I’m teaching part time at a college and I am loving it. So it was sentimental to see my name plate tonight. I sure haven’t always known how things will turn out but I am glad for the grace. Oh yeah, there was also that gay thing I didn’t realize until my Jack Benny age…… #loveyoudad #jackbenny39
