Music Teaching

When I was 18, I emphatically told my Dad that I did NOT want to be a music teacher; NO WAY. Then I tried it 4 years later with my amazing cooperating teacher Donna Budil and dagnabbit, I loved it. My elementary music methods teacher James Brinkman also really made an impact on me. His energy was infectious. I got so much out of his class. I feel very lucky that I’m able to share my love of teaching with future educators. Today, four sophomore Rutgers Mason Gross Instrumental Music Education majors visited my classroom for their education class observation hours. I’m happy to report that in very little time they were whimsically playing music games with the kids and enjoying our wacky class vibes. My heart was full when one of the collegiates said as we finished “I’m so happy right now”. Giddy up. #elementarymusicteacher #musicmethods #vibelife
