Vicky Powers started coming for official piano lessons with me last summer. She has never taken official lessons but had a good experience in an 8th grade exploratory piano class. She sadly endured unkind teachers in classroom music classes. I have been inspired by Vicky’s thoughtfulness, drive, and consistency.
I took piano lessons for 7 years as a child. I would be considered a solid classroom music teacher and overall intermediate pianist. I definitely know my way around the circle of 5ths with an ease with progressions and modulating while keeping classroom behaviors at bay lol. So I am able to teach fundamental piano and help those become intermediate players but I am not a piano teacher for advanced students.
Vicky deals with significant eyesight challenges which makes me even more proud of her hard work. She is pretty tough on herself but has come very far. It’s a pleasure to work with her and goes to show we can always take up a hobby. Love her and love her spirit. Giddy up.
