I love when classes vibe and add their own in the moment edit to the song of the day. I never know what their new operating systems will devise. Today, Cassie Marie Musz’s Kindergarten added some spice to their rousing rendition of our “women are history makers” tune. All together they spontaneously added a rhythmically accurate “WOMEN!” chant at the end of each refrain. Giaret De La Cruz
A youngster asked me why women haven’t always been treated fairly in the past. I responded “that’s a really good question and not easy to answer. The wise single digit chap behind them answered for me; “Because men haven’t always respected women”. Colleen Lombardi Alrighty then. Lol.
One little looked thoughtfully at Rosa Parks and said randomly “she didn’t think it was fair that peach people got to sit in the front of the bus and she’s right.” Kimberly Dominguez
Indeed, children are listening and also observing. A student shared that they were really nervous about singing our songs from memory. They said “what if I fail?” The other student who clearly has read the classroom sign outside of my door said “but my darling what if you fly?”
